“Tiare Helberg’s debut EP is extraordinary! A sophisticated yet unusual and mysterious sound by anybody’s standards. It’s sincere, artful and addictive. It’s as if she’s been making records her entire life. Can’t wait to hear what she does next!”

“A Swedish/Polynesian singer/songwriter born in Darwin, Helberg has a deeply esoteric lyrical vision. It means ideas accrete rather than tell a story, almost filmic in texture. . . The muted musical bridge of Tattooed Cards recalls the swirl of sounds at the heart of Strawberry Fields, but with the vocals tonally pure breathy Jane Birkin, so there’s not a little dash of Serge Gainsbourg in the mix, especially when the strings come in on Blue Orchid. The overall effect has the listener drifting in the clouds.”

“Helberg shows guitar chops in new album. Australian Tiare Helberg has found herself on tour in Woodstock with others, and with “The Inconsolable Isolation of Intimacy,” she has her own CD now to show the world. Featuring Marty Willson-Piper (the church) chiming in on guitars – this dreamy ethereal fare floats gently from the linear poetry of “Tattooed Cards” and the sparse, solitary “Blue Orchid” to the dream choir of “Matador of Love”. The many layers of guitars and echoed arpeggios are one of her calling cards, and she is obviously a true guitar geek; Helberg lists not only who plays the guitars, but each guitar that is used by make and model. We love that! Helberg’s airy voice is precious, angelic — and one you want to hear over and over.”
